Being
a Professional Baseball Player with the Boston Redsox is a very
physically and mentally demanding job.
I started Reuben's program with a wide variety of questions on
how working out and building/maintaining muscle would help me elevate
my game, and it more than handled every one of them.

on another big area of concern I had which was flexibility.

were skinny.
Some had too much fat.
They were different ages.
They were from different backgrounds.
But they had one thing in common.
They looked at their bodies.
And they didn't like what they saw.
But now they stand in front of a full-length mirror.
How did it happen? Reuben will tell you.
But first, he wants to tell you a bit about himself.
His own story. And how it made him who he is today.
My name is Reuben Bajada. And I will help you build the body you want.
Now you might look at me the way I look now (very top of page) and think: "Easy
for you to say. You were obviously born with all the right genes..."
Well you couldn't be more wrong. As a matter of fact, genetics had nothing
to do with it.
Take
the sport I loved when I was a few years younger: football (Aussie Rules, of
course). I lived for the game and no matter how hard I tried, my skills improved
but my body didn't.
And this was the irony. I really loved the game. I knew what I had to do. But
I just didn't have the body to do it.
I was 145lbs of nothing.
There was more meat on a butcher's pencil.
I was the player on the team who made you scratch your head and say, "What
on earth is coach thinking?"
I was the player the other players loved to see on the other side.
I was the player who got tossed off the ball like a rag doll.
I was the young man who one day said:
My big moment came with the news I had the chance to trial for my state's football
team.
But it was also my worst moment. The selection committee didn't pull any punches.
I remember overhearing them from the locker room:
"He's far too weak and skinny for this level of competition."
One of the assistant coaches felt sorry for me and offered some blunt advice:
"Put on 25lbs and come back next year."
He might as well have said, "Put yourself on the moon."
But I decided to take on the challenge.
For the next twelve months, the gym became my life.
I didn't know it then but on that day I started a long journey of trial and
error, of success and failure, and for you, the discovery of the learnings that
can save a lifetime of guesswork.
Like they say, a wise man learns from other men's failures.
Of course, I started out like every other poor soul does when setting out to
put on weight and build muscle:
I read dozens of fitness magazines.
I scoured the net, searching hundreds of websites, forums and fitness blogs
for advice and tips... searching for reliable information - only to come out even
more confused and conflicted.
I read every book and watched every video tutorial I could get my hands on.
I picked the brains of the massive guys at the gym - disheartened to find that
most of them turned to steroids in order to achieve their gains
The more I tried to understand what to do, the more I became convinced there
had to be a better way to communicate the technique of building muscle.
And - more importantly - not just communicate it, but get results... because
I sure as eggs wasn't getting any.
Speaking of eggs - I was LIVING on eggs. And steak. And a routine of repetitive,
exhausting gym sessions.
Then one day, one of my mates said to me "I thought you were working out to
put on weight?"
"I am," I replied.
"Well your workout isn't working out, is it mate?"
And he was right.
But it was already that time again: time to haul my skinny frame down to the
State football trials.
It was a two-hour train ride. I remember the date. Tuesday, November 12th.
I also remember thinking it would be great if the train broke down. Or there
was some minor accident. No one gets hurt but just enough that I wouldn't make
it to the trials.
Even the weather was telling a story that night. Thunder and lightning. Hell
let loose.
And that pretty much summed up the coach when he saw me.
There were fifty players standing in groups around the middle of the field.
I stood by myself. Lonely as a skunk looking for love.
Everyone had filled out. Bulging bodies. Muscles as big as my head.
I sucked in my stomach in a wasted attempt to make my chest look bigger.
But I could only hold my breath so long.
The coach didn't hold his at all.
Early 40's. Sun-drenched skin. Over six foot five. His shoulders were wider
than most men are tall. Or so it seemed. He was that intimidating.
He didn't lose eye contact with me. But he sure let loose.
"Progress. Let's talk about making progress
shall we?
Look around you right now and you will see some of
the most talented footballers in this state.
But talent needs to be developed, and many of you
were asked to improve yourself over last year.
Well gentlemen, I'm very happy to say that of the
26 people who were dropped last year and asked to improve, 25 of them have done
just that.
Which means one person has let the team down"
I had a feeling what was coming next. But I thought he wouldn't do that, would
he?
He did.
He pointed right at me. My jaw dropped. My shoulders dropped. My stomach dropped.
And then, just like that
"Number 16, Reuben Bajada.
All you had to do was to put on some muscle. But
after a full 12 months, you show up here looking and weighing exactly as you
did when you left.
So on behalf of this football team, I want to personally
congratulate you son, for wasting your teammates time, and mine.
This is the end of the road for you kid. Now piss
off out of my sight."
What a walk off the field that was.
49 players and coaches. Eyes piercing the back of my head... which felt like
it was about to explode with humiliation and frustration.
What exploded instead was a wave of determination. I was going to turn this
into a positive experience. Well, the Hollywood moment didn't happen quite like
that. But nonetheless.
The tongue-lashing and verbal thrashing gave me a voice of my own. And I asked
myself the all-important questions:
And most importantly.
I took the final step off the football field. And stepped into my personal
field of dreams.
Well that was a pretty dismal tale, wasn't it?
But you know it has a happy ending.
A quick glance at these photos will tell you that Reuben's remorseful recollections
were ultimately rewarded with radical results.
He found a way that worked.
He put on weight. He built muscle, and lucky for you - he's done all
the hard work for you.
Thanks to the groundwork he laid, your own journey to the body you want will
be a whole lot easier. And certainly better planned and thought out.
This is what we meant earlier when we said:
As Reuben mentioned, he asked himself some key questions.
A long, hard look at what he had been doing unlocked the answers.
He realized that he had taken on too much information. But more importantly,
too much conflicting information. From too many sources.
He would read in a magazine to do things one way.
Then lo and behold, he'd watch a video and be told he should be doing the complete
opposite.
No wonder he wasn't making any progress. It was like rowing a boat with one
oar.
He was going around in circles.
And instead of doing that, he needed to embark on a steady climb upwards.
He needed to get past the salesmen and jokers at the bottom of the muscle building
tree and get into the upper branches where the real results were.
All the events of the past suddenly lined up before him. And he finally recognized
the number one lesson, the simple truth, that truth that he had somehow missed.
For Reuben, that plan took root in gaining experience.
Experience working with the very best in the industry.
Experience with the life- changing moments that happened when he joined the
Army's Special Forces.
Experience travelling the globe working first hand with client after client,
finding out which methods work best.
And the biggest experience and revelation of all.
Finally understanding that;
Protein didn't provide results.

The football field fiasco was behind me.

Mistake #1: You Can Not Directly Analyze Your Own Sleep
Quality
You may think that when you wake up in the morning, it's easy to judge the
quality of your sleep. Truth is, sometimes when you feel groggy, you may have
actually slept well, and other times when you feel well rested you possibly
had fragmented sleep.
Dr. Krakow teaches that you cannot possibly examine all the physical and mental
components of sleep quality based on a feeling alone. Quoted directly from his

"You are not "present" when you sleep.
You are not watching yourself sleep.
You are not monitoring or measuring anything while you sleep.
You're not listening to yourself sleep.

Instead, Dr. Krakow teaches that you need to accept that your sleep is broken
and stop over analyzing it. Instead of searching for quick fixes you need to
repair the real problems causing your insomnia.
Mistake #2: You Rely Too Heavily on the Advice of Others
Society in general underestimates the problem of insomnia and the other medical
problems that it leads to. The problem of insomnia has become "normal" to most
people.
As examined by Dr. Krakow,
"It's considered okay to:
drink four to six caffeinated beverages per day;
to be drowsy while you drive;
struggle to get out of bed in the morning;
get too little sleep;
feel exhausted at various points in the day;
feel behind schedule in your daily activities."
Dr. Krakow goes on to say "A lot of people suffer from sleep problems,
but that does not make these problems normal!

Due to this social stigma, too much talking about being tired is perceived
non-productive so to avoid being ridiculed by society, insomniacs often use
caffeine to make their tiredness go away.
This situation causes few insomniacs to realize that their excessive use of
caffeine is abnormal, stopping them from being able to identify their problem
and preventing them from being able to assess their symptoms accurately.
Mistake #3: The Problem Has Become "Normal" And Is Hidden
From View
You may have a hard time imagining a life without feeling tired and sleepy
all the time, which can lead to accepting insomnia as a normal part
of your life.
Dr. Krakow exposes a dangerous problem with this ever common situation - when
you simply accept that you have insomnia, you don't realize that it may be creating
disastrous medical problems.
These are not just all physical; too many people accept the deteriorating state

When poor sleep quality becomes normal, poor quality life becomes normal as

Mistake #4: Both Sleep and Sleep Related Problems Need
to Be Fixed Simultaneously
You are often told that you need to take care of your mental problems and then
you will sleep just fine. The problem is, mental issues like depression, stress,
and anxiety are often caused by poor sleep.
Your doctor says, "If you just take care of your health, you'll sleep better."
But you think to yourself, "If I just slept better, my health would improve."
It's confusing when someone tells you to fix the symptom, not the problem.
Merely fixing the symptoms will not solve the problem, because, as you will
learn, there are deeper issues causing your sleeplessness that must be addressed.
However, because problems like depression, anxiety, and stress serve to further
worsen your sleep, these "symptoms" have to be addressed as well.
As you fix the deeper issues causing your sleeplessness, your mental health
will be easier to deal with, as you deal with your mental health issues, your
sleep will continue to improve.
Failure to work on EITHER of the things that deteriorate your sleep - the deeper
sleep problems OR the mental health symptoms - will slow your progress and result
in frustration.
Mistake #5: Sleeplessness Prevents You from Fixing Sleeplessness
The downward spiral of insomnia wears away at your intellectual capacity, which
can make it difficult to work on a mental problem as confusing as insomnia.
It's also the reason why you may not judge insomnia to be as big of a problem
as it really is.
This turned out to be one of the keys to curing my own insomnia. That's
why I'm not exaggerating when I say Dr. Krakow's next passage changed my life

"Sleep restores the workings of your mind by improving your ability to learn
new things, consolidate your memory, and enhance your mood, all of which is
‘brain gain.' But poor sleep quality, the opposite of sound sleep, leave you
with brain strain, drain, and pain, our shorthand terms for cognitive impairment.
Cognitive impairment means that your mind is not firing on all cylinders. Memory,
concentration, and attention problems are the most common impairments. Most
problematic sleepers, including many children and adolescents, suffer from mild,
moderate, or severe impairment - "brain stream, drain, or pain." When sleep
quality is compromised, deep, restorative, and consolidating sleep is no longer
experienced, and the ensuing sleep fragmentation leads to a form of brain damage.

In particular, your memory, concentration, and attention span are no longer
sustained at optimal levels. Some impairments are irreversible, caused by severe
sleep fragmentation as well as by drops in oxygen levels during sleep. Some
impairments are caused by fatigue and sleepiness, which may be reversible with
proper treatment. Much of these impairments are mistaken for aging or for medical
or psychiatric diseases. In children and teens, we see lackluster school performances
or inattentive behavior and rush to put our kids on medications.
What's most intriguing about brain strain, drain, and pain is that you cannot
spot the thing you've got! - which... is why cognitive impairment is the most
insidious of all barriers blocking you from sound sleep...
The very disease that causes your suffering cripples your ability to
see the disease you are suffering from and disables your ability to measure
the suffering it causes.
How so? Simply, we all become accustomed to the tools in our own toolbox.
They may be new and sharp when you first use them, but sooner or later they
become old and dull. Over time we may not spot these changes because they occur
gradually. Even when your tools are not performing well, it is more common to
imagine they are working just fine. It's easier, almost natural to see things
unchanged instead of questioning one's capacity.
Memory, concentration, and attention are essential tools to make good decisions
and proper judgments to live a balanced and prosperous life, which leads naturally
to [better sleep]. When these mental facilities begin to wear out, you lose
some capacity to form solid judgments, make sound decisions, and perceive things
accurately, including, is a great example, your capacity to distinguish between
the natural effects of aging and the impact of poor sleep quality on your mind.
Likewise, you lose the capacity to distinguish between mental health disorders
and poor sleep quality's fragmenting impact on your mental health.
As brain strain, drain, and pain set in, they intensify the human tendency
to traverse life's highway on cruise control, as if you were sleep-driving your
way through life. When you function in this manner, you find yourself heading
down the same road, time and again, without paying much attention to the potholes,
or worse, to the ditch alongside the road. And because the human mind is inclined
to slip into a rut from time to time, once the wheels start spinning, is difficult
to gain traction to to pull your mind out of it...
To expand this analogy, consider what happens while stuck in traffic. When
many problematic sleepers suffer fatigue and sleepiness, they react hastily
and become frustrated in such encounters. Many drivers in ensnarled in traffic
complain, bent, or express negative feelings; and there is no law against it
unless you perpetrate road rage. However, the value of this strident form of
emotional expression is questionable. People who engage in this behavior generate
more frustration, tension, and other unpleasant feelings that linger throughout
the day. Solid evidence indicates that daily emotional upheavals of this specific
type harm your mind, your body, and ultimately your sleep.
You might be the type or know someone who throws this advice out the driver's
side window. For whatever reason, when stuck in traffic, you've been with the
best of them were just due to the boiling point. Remarkably, you engage in these
ineffective, self-destructive behaviors for months, years, or decades. I matter
how many times you hear suggestions to approach this problem in a new way, you
persist in these behaviors not solely because you want to, but because you are
literally in a right in the way you think, feel, and see while ensnarled in
traffic jams.
To change this behavior you need attention to watch yourself heading down the
wrong path; you need memory to recall what you pack you want to take; and you
need concentration to sharpen your focus to see the change through until you
create a new behavior - say, turning on a golden oldies radio station in seeing
your way clear of traffic.
No change occurs without effective use of your attention, memory, or concentration.
This example highlights a dilemma for many problematic sleepers. Having lost
or damaged the essential tools needed to spot their impairment, The 5 Biggest

on a turntable, they are left with a broken-record behavior that prevents them

to speed up the process of liberation through mental and emotional

In order to find a solution, I began a period of intense research into
what science calls "neuro-plasticity" which is a scientific term for
the brain's ability to re-wire itself given proper stimulus.
My research led me to brainwave entrainment in 2003. I bought a $150 introductory
level of a "Binaural beat" package, which was the only entrainment method available
at that time.
It worked OK for a while, but results from the old-fashioned "binaural
beats" quickly diminished, which is why that program has 12+ levels
to keep people progressing and buying new products...
I knew Brainwave Entrainment had amazing potential, but instead of
following someone else's pre-determined, over-priced program, I decided to keep

What Is The Importance Of Clinical
Research?
Clinical trials are medical research trials that are performed on humans under
double blind conditions. This means that the researchers and the patients do
not know who is receiving the trial product or the placebo. You can be assured

Protruded disc tissue or a herniated disc is excruciating ... and anyone who

It has been found that education is crucial for long term

In fact, one study showed that an educational booklet actually decreased

state of fluctuating weight.

There were times when I was proud to show off my body and I felt great
about how I was representing the profession.
But there were other times when I had to hide behind layers of baggy
clothes, hoping my growing waistline wasn't too noticeable. I didn't even
want to train my clients because I was so ashamed of how I looked...
The only thing that saved me back in those days was hard work and discipline.
I've always been able to push myself during workouts. And when I buckle
down, I'm one of the most disciplined eaters on the planet. (Of course
the opposite is also true...)
So yeah... I hit rock bottom and fought my way back into shape... Over and
over again.
But after a while the hard work and discipline stopped working. Programs
that used to get me back into shape were leaving me flabby.

To my credit, I'd tested ALL the gimmicks and fads. And that's great

About Those Guys Who Never Have to Worry
About Their Weight? Ryan Used To Be One...
I've never once done a diet.
I
never had to. I really like green vegetables. I don't eat sweet things
cause I'm sweet enough. I've always been active, and naturally thin -
I had more trouble gaining weight than losing it.
And then I hit my mid-30's. My life took a stressful turn, and crap jobs
were piled on top of money problems and frustration at the slow pace of
my goals.
I kept plugging away with my training over those years, and my nutrition
was clean, but I was hiding a shameful little secret: I had developed
a roll.
That's right, a roll. That unsightly bump of belly fat that breaks up
the outline of a tight fitting t-shirt. That slight bulge around the middle
that's the first thing to emerge from a foggy mirror after a shower. That
one blight on the landscape of an otherwise perfect body... ahem...
Okay, yeah, I know, a roll isn't much to whine about when you're challenged
with losing serious weight. But it was my challenge, and I didn't like
it.
How did it happen? Age partly, lack of sleep and inadequate recovery
most probably, but also the chronic stress of too many writing assignments
where the hours were long and training was minimal.
I also struggled to maintain my muscle mass. And that was part of my
problem. I'd started down that terrible slope of changing body composition,
and I didn't like where it was headed...
My story at that point overlaps with Adam's. I dug deep into everything
I learned during two decades in the martial arts. And when it comes to
fitness modalities, I tried them all: old school weight training, running
programs, aerobics (hey, there were a lot of cute girls in those classes...!),
kettlebells, acid / alkaline diets, Indian clubs, and several years dedicated
to a fitness system that looked promising but that ultimately didn't have
the answers I needed either.
After all those years of struggle, it finally dawned on me that my diet
was off - I wasn't eating nearly enough for my frame, or the right macronutrient
balance - and I had completely neglected the lifestyle factors.
When it came to exercise, I also learned how to organize my training
the right way. Thanks of course to some hints from The Shapeshifter...

Secret Weapon is a bit misleading. It makes it sound like we discovered some
mystical powers that magically transform your body. But you know by now that
such things just don't exist...
What we did find were methods so powerful and precise that
using them was like mounting a "surgical strike" to
re-shape your body both quickly and permanently.

Weapon #1: Shapeshifter

The more you train, while FULLY recovering between each session, the faster

Whoa! Won't I overtrain?
That's a pretty common myth. And it's true. But ONLY if you train the WRONG

Confusion...
Depending on who you talk to, carbs are either the most important nutrient
in your diet, or they're a dirty word. There's very little middle ground when
it comes to this most misunderstood nutrient.
First of all, let's define "carb". For our intents and purposes, a carb is
any starchy or sugary food, like pasta, bread, rice, pastries, cereals, candies,
etc. However, carbs are short for "carbohydrate", which also includes fruits,
vegetables, legumes and beans.
So... "To carb, or not to carb. That is the question..." (ahem... our apologies to
Willie Shakespeare...)
The answer is simple. Eat the RIGHT kinds of carbs at the RIGHT time. You see,
carbs are a very powerful and useful tool for your body redesign. But abusing
them can make you fat.
Carbs cause your body to release a hormone called insulin. And insulin works
to store nutrients - but it also LOCKS FAT
into your fat cells. If you're constantly overeating on carbs, you'll never
be able to get that fat back out again.
But if you don't eat any carbs, the results are just as bad. Your muscles will
look flat and you'll feel tired and listless. And if your muscles are flat,
you lose your SHAPE. The visual effect of your body redesign will be a failure.
So what's the solution?
CONFUSE your body by switching up your carbs on a regular basis. Eat very low
carb one day. Eat a moderate amount of carbs on another. Then jack your carbs
up one more time before dropping back down to low carb again.
There's just one caveat. Make sure you avoid or at least reduce refined carbs
like sugar and white flour, even on higher carb days. Stick to whole grains,
fruits, yogurt, legumes, etc.
Those foods will refill your muscles without provoking wild swings in insulin.
And that means you'll have a much faster body redesign.

Weapon #3: "Cortisol"
Control For A Flat Belly
It's clear that reducing stress adds to your peace of mind. And it would probably
improve your health. But did you know it's also intimately linked to your quest
for a HOT BODY?
If you don't control stress, you stay flabby. Period.
Why does stress mess with your physique? Because it's intimately linked to
the hormone cortisol.
Cortisol is often called the "stress" hormone because the levels in your body
increase when you're stressed, and they fall back down to baseline when you
return to a normal state.
Cortisol is a good thing when all systems are running well. It gives you the
energy to function and train during the day. The problem is the chronic stresses
of modern life.
If your stress levels are jacked up all day long, so is your cortisol. And
this leads - through various mechanisms - to extra fat on your belly.

Getting
ready for a figure competition:
Training for a figure show may be the hardest thing you ever do. Many competitors
train their butts off, put friends and family on the back burner, sacrifice
the things they love to do etc.... and they still look out of shape for a figure
competition (they may look good for the beach - but a figure competition is
another level of fitness!), simply put... they should not have competed! What
a shame! It doesn't matter how hard you train.... it only matters how smart
you train.
Too many competitors are just
winging it:
With the lack of figure coaches and shoddy information online, it can be almost
impossible to properly prepare for a show. You would be shocked at some of

Posing
Too
many figure competitors don't know how to pose.
Unless you have a good figure coach or and 'eye' for posing, you will have a
difficult time learning to pose correctly. You may think you have it... but
one honest look at the pics or
videos from your show may disappoint you. IT LOOKS SO EASY!
- Watching an experienced figure competitor pose correctly may give you the
false notion that figure posing is easy. The fact is that in order to make it
look easy, a competitor must practice hour upon hour. Every competitor I have

Posing errors
